WhatsApp has grown pretty fast after it was bought by Facebook. It seems that the big social network made a good decision by purchasing this mobile application. We’ve spotted a lot of features that WhatsApp has “stolen” from Facebook. One of these features is the read receipts, which allows you to see if the message that you’ve sent to a friend of yours has been read or not.
However, that doesn’t mean that all the features that got on WhatsApp are great. Actually, when the Blue Ticks got added to the WhatsApp application, nobody was able to disable it, and this is why a lot of users decided to uninstall the official WhatsApp application and they’ve installed the WhatsApp Plus application. The WhatsApp Plus application was allowing the users to disable these annoying features that were a direct “attack” to their privacy. However, soon enough, the developers of the official WhatsApp application understood that they’ve done something wrong and added the option to disable Read Receipts (and many more).
It seems that WhatsApp is getting influenced once again by Facebook, as it received a “like” button to refer to the multimedia content that the users share.
The “like” button will be used for the WhatsApp users to show appreciation for the multimedia content that someone just sent to them. However, this was not confirmed yet by WhatsApp’s officials.
For now, it is rumored that the developers are currently testing out the new feature and that it should soon be released on a new BETA version of WhatsApp. In case a new WhatsApp BETA version is released, we will let you know if the “like” button has been added on it or not.
Will you use the “Like” button for the multimedia files that a friend sends to you or do you think that this button is useless?
